So I knew what I wanted when I bought the Viewsonic VX2235WM.See, I'm a self confessed Viewsonic junkie. Back in 1999 I bought a 21' P815 Professinal CRT Viewsonic. Not inexpensive - just under a grand, but worth every penny. The footprint of this beast was measured in acres, but oh the beautiful .25 dot pitch glory!But now its time to replace it. I know how painful it can be to use a lower end LCD 6 hours a day, and as I started my search I only looked for 22 inchers. But the specs of the viewsonic, especially the 1900 x 1050 resolution are what sold me.But not all is perfect.I upgraded my video card (wanted DVI out) and installed the new drivers. Then, in a moment of weakness, I inserted the CD-ROM that came with the monitor. Killed the new drivers I had just installed. Looked like cr@p. Do NOT install anything off that CD unless you must have the Parrot screensaver.This model has a silver insert in the base which is actually handy for paper clips and post-it notes.The OSD is classic Viewsonic and easy to use if you have ever set up a monitor to your vision/taste. It looked pretty darn good right out of the box.To find a better performing 22' LCD, you would have to spend $100-$150 bucks more.
