Find great deals on eBay for razer naga molten special edition. Shop with confidence. I've been using the naga for 4 years now, I've had 2 standard naga's, 2 molten's, and the new green naga. The Naga Epic is a piece of shit unless you only use it wired. I have yet to have any issues with my standard/molten Naga's, even using synapse 2.0. • Pros

Attractive design. Good configuration software. Surprisingly easy to learn. Add-on software customizes game interface.

  • Cons

Corded. For right-handed gamers only. Some awkwardly positioned buttons. May cause cramping for users with larger hands.

  • Bottom Line

Razer has gone all out in pursuit of MMO gamers with the Naga line of 17-button gaming mice, but how much use you'll find it depends on the size of your online gaming addiction—and on your right hand.

Given the ever-expanding popularity of World of Warcraft, which truly revolutionized massively multiplayer online (MMO) gaming when it was released in 2004 (and is still going strong today, as its latest expansion pack, Cataclysm, shows), we're never surprised when we see peripherals aimed at that huge market. But we do raise our eyebrows a bit when they turn out to be good. That's mostly the case with Razer's Naga Molten ($79.99 list), a mouse that's been conceived from the ground up with MMO players (especially WoWers) and their specific needs in mind. Loaded with configuration possibilities, the Naga does everything it ought to, and more—but even some true addicts might find using it more of a pain than a pleasure.

Like many Razer peripherals, it's pleasing to look at. The Naga Molten measures about 1.6 by 2.7 by 4.6 inches (HWD), and is solid black when idle. Plug it in to a spare USB port (yes, this is a corded mouse) and it lights up with striking red accents: Beneath the scroll wheel and on the main body, where you'll see an undulating Razer logo surrounded with cracks that definitely help sell the mouse's name. (The original Naga, which was released last year, has blue accent lights and the same price; the Naga Epic costs $129.99, has purple lights and a wider range of configuration options, and is cordless.) Like many mice these days, the Naga is intended for ergonomic right-hand use—sorry, southpaws. In addition to the left and right buttons and scroll wheel, it also has forward and back buttons.

But the Naga's defining feature is the keypad on its left side, right where your thumb would normally rest, that features 12 individually numbered buttons. These are intended to replicate the functionality of your keyboard's top row (1-9, 0, -, and =), which MMO games typically assign for your action bar. Just install the mouse, download the driver software from razersupport.com, and you can immediately begin performing all your most frequent actions without ever having to lift your hand from your mouse. With your left hand anchored to W, A, S, and D, so the theory goes, your gaming should be more efficient all the way around.

Ati radeon hd 4200 driver windows 10. The actual operation of the mouse, however, has some potential to trip you up. The placement of the keypad, the right-handed orientation, and a couple of other questionable choices make most of the Naga's problems about comfort rather than convenience.

If your hand is on the big side, your thumb doesn't naturally fall on the top row of numbered keys, but just beyond it. This forces you to move your thumb quite a bit while trying to hit all 12 keys, and that can disrupt the rest of your mousing. We found it tough to effectively press the column closest to the desk (1, 4, 7, and 10) in very fast sequences, but having to draw our thumb back a long way to hit all the buttons never exactly felt good. Nor did trying to use the Forward and Back buttons. Because the keypad has displaced their traditional home on the left side of the mouse, they've been relocated to the upper-left edge of the left button. Their angle there makes them impossible to easily press without contorting your thumb, and their small size and off angle don't naturally accommodate your index finger, either.

That same finger was responsible for causing us some genuine aches. The mouse isn't particularly long, but it is high in the middle and a gap between the buttons (just above the wheel) may push your fingers farther apart than you're accustomed to. We found that adopting a position from which your thumb can access all the numbered buttons while your index and middle fingers stay poised on the left and right buttons may cause those fingers to arch constantly. Your fingers really need to be able to rest completely on the mouse when they're not otherwise needed, and if yours can't you're more likely to find the Naga a hurt than a help, even across relatively short usage periods.

Our final issue was more minor, but still an annoyance. By flipping a switch on the underside of the mouse or adjusting a certain setting in the software configurator, you can turn on 'Advanced' mode, in which the mouse's number pad mimics the ten-key pad on your keyboard. But because the order of the numbers is different on the mouse (123-456-789) than on the keyboard (789-456-123), we found this far too much of a hindrance and decided it was easier to leave it off all the time.

Razer Naga Settings

Behringer asio 64 bit driver. Otherwise, the Naga was easier than we expected to get the hang of. Razer recommends an 18-hour 'adjustment' period, but we became fluent at using the mouse to fling weapons and fire off spells after just a couple of hours of on-the-raid training. (If you really have trouble warming to the keypad, you can attach some of the included adhesive 'trainers' to help you find the button you want merely by touch, but we didn't need them.) The configuration tool, which you can use to change polling rates, turn lighting on or off, and reassign buttons, is well-organized and intuitive; and installing 'AddOns' (downloadable from Razer's Web site), which reshuffle World of Warcraft's and Warhammer's action bars to match the Naga's 3-by-4-button layout, only make the transition to mostly-mouse gaming even smoother.

Of course, you don't need the Razer Naga Molten to have a fulfilling gaming experience; we didn't really find ourselves enjoying World of Warcraft much more than we do normally, and we're not sure how much it will speed up your game over the long run. We also found we needed to switch to a 'regular' mouse for more mundane tasks; the Naga's design oddities prevent it from being a stellar general-purpose pointing device. But if MMOs are your only purpose, and you don't mind taking some time to learn its ins and outs, the Naga could be a truly trusty adventuring companion.
