Are they detected when you right click the Volume icon in System Tray to open Playback Devices? If so right click in an empty area of the Playback Devices to Show Hidden Devices.

Fixed Asus BT400 Driver Windows 7 I dual boot with Windows 10 so knew it had to be a driver issue. I called Asus tech support and they gave me the same November 2015 driver on their site: Driver version 6.5.1.6000. The troubleshooter reports that the headphones are unplugged! This makes no sense because they are bluetooth headphones. I did wonder if there is a chance that my BT dongle is port sensitive (maybe it wants to be in a specific USB port) but that does not seem likely.

The headphones do show up in the playback devices but are listed as being disconnected.

I spent a lot of time on this issue today. In my mind I am sure the problem revolves around a lack of compatibility between the ASUS USB-BT400 wireless dongle and Windows 10.

That being said:

The last thing I tried was to uninstall all audio devices on my computer and then re-install them. Now, when I went to devices and printers the Hesh 2 headphones di appear but were not connected. I clicked on the icon and a window popped up giving me the option to connect to bluetooth. It disappeared before I could do this but the second time I tried I was able to click the Connect button and after some time the connection was established.

One aside - I have lost connection with my Realtek speakers but I will try and figure it out!

I have an Asus USB-BT400 (a dedicated Bluetooth transmitter on a USB stick) which I have just installed on a Dell Xeon desktop running Win 10. I have updated the usb drivers. The Bluetooth icon is showing under Bluetooth devices and I can pair to my modern Huawei P9 Lite smartphone and my LG soundbar. However, I can't Connect to either of them. When I try, it tells me that my pc (desktop) doesn't support Miracast and the Connect fails. This is strange because I'm not trying to wirelessly connect a screen, just sound, so Miracast shouldn't come into it, should it???

The soundbar shows up in Playback Devices, but when I right-click on it, Connect Device is greyed out.

I can pair the phone to the soundbar without any difficulty and get glorious music, so I know that both of them are working, and I have unpaired one of them to ensure that there is no contention with the other, when trying to Connect the desktop, but it still fails.

Can anyone help please?

I was trying to install my Asus bt400, win 7 could not find it

downloaded drivers from asus. would not work

searched ms found link to update and fix asus driver and did not realize that is was going to a 3rd party company in india - they cannot and do not speak English very well.

Do not go here they want to take your money. I called and ask if this was a paid program,

finally after explaining what I was saying 5 times to some guy from india who did not understand english. I just hung up on him the the buttwad call me back. Needless to say I was and am not very happy about that.

What driver are you trying to find? What is the make/model of the Device listed in Device Manager?

If you have problems or it doesn't disclose the exact make/model of the device in question, post back the short string Hardware ID as determined from the steps in the link above. You can also paste this into Google to search for Windows7 driver. We will help further as needed.

If your post is not about finding a driver and therefore is in this thread incorrectly, please clarify exactly what it is you are doing. For example if you're trying to do a Clean Reinstall Windows 7 then everything needed is in that link including how drivers are handled in a driver-complete OS, or how to find any missing drivers after OS install and Windows Updates are completed.

Here you will find the Windows 10 driver for the ASUS USB-BT400 Broadcom Bluetooth adapter. The driver is version 12.0.1.659 and was released in November 2015. You can download the driver below.

Note that this driver comes in a .cab file and you will need to download and extract the .cab file from the zip file. Once you have extracted the .cab file remember where you had extracted the file contents too. You will now have to open your control panel. This is done by opening the Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel. Right Click on the device you wish to update. Then click update software and browse to where you had extracted the file contents.
