It works for the DV6700 and many other HP laptops (see complete listing below) and it may also work if you have another unknown device HPQ0006 🙂

If you re-install Windows 7/Vista/Windows XP on an HP Notebook you may have some issues related to unknown devices that Windows does not know about by default. In these cases you need the correct driver from the manufacturer. One way to find out more about your devices it to use the Windows device manager and go to the properties of any devices that have a yellow question mark. Look for any distinguishing information, especially the hardware or device which may read something like:
